Right To Buy...
Local authorities offer tenants the right to buy the council housing they occupy, usually at a discount depending on the length of the time as a tenant.
Many lenders are happy to help you carry out your right to buy, at very competitive rates due to the reduced purchase price of the property.
In some cases the lenders will even lend you more than the required amount to purchase the property. This enables you to carry out some home improvements once the property is yours.
You usually have to own the property for a minimum period before selling or the council will reqire a percentage of the discount given to be repaid to them. They usually say 3 years.
